औलाद वालो फूलो फलो ( parents, may you prosper and flourish)

  •  अंत में ;

  • Our child is our future.\
  • Our child is the support of our old age.
  • Our child is the light of our home.
  • Our child is truly one in a million.
  • Children are a magnificent blessing from God.
  • Those whom God blesses with offspring are truly fortunate.
  • That is why the saying goes, "May those with children flourish and prosper."
  • Beliefs:
  • Apart from these, there are many other sentiments expressed regarding children; yet, despite this, we often fail to raise or care for them properly.
  • Just as parents receive credit when their children grow up to bring honor to the nation and the world, they must also be held accountable if a child goes astray or loses their way.
  • If we keep certain things in mind and pay attention to our children's upbringing, they too can become good, well-adjusted individuals.
  • However, we often lack the time to provide proper care and guide them onto the right path; consequently, children fall into bad company, choose the wrong direction, and we are left with regret later on.
  • Let us explore how to mold our children into good human beings and responsible citizens—individuals who care for their parents and bring honor to their village, district, and country.
  • Sacrificing Desires:
  • Keep the following points in mind to help your child become a good person:
  • Nothing is achieved without sacrifice; parents, too, must make sacrifices. Only then will our child become our future, the support of our old age, and our pillar of strength.
  • Mother's Milk:
  • 0 to 6 months: Feed the child exclusively on mother's milk. The mother should not give the child anything other than her own milk. Start with well-mashed lentils, semolina pudding (sooji kheer), etc. Do not keep the food too thin or watery; ensure it is thick enough to provide adequate calories. Feed children aged 1 to 5 years normal home-cooked meals. Include sufficient protein (lentils, milk, paneer, eggs), green vegetables, fruits, and grains in their diet. Keep children completely away from tea, coffee, and junk food (such as chips, burgers, pizza, and cold drinks). Instead, include fruits, milk, lentils, dry fruits, and fresh, homemade food.
  • \How to prevent mobile phone addiction?
  • Communicate: Talk to your child constantly from a young age; this accelerates the development of their language skills and brain.
  • Show children books with colorful pictures and read stories to them right from their first year.
  • Do not expose children under the age of two to mobile, TV, or tablet screens at all. Instead of forcing them to stay away from mobile phones, modify their routine:
  • Set a schedule: Establish household rules—for instance, no one watches mobile or TV while eating or for one hour before bedtime.
  • Offer alternatives: Keep them engaged in other activities to wean them off the mobile phone. Encourage outdoor games (like playing in the park or running), indoor games (like Ludo, Chess, or Carrom), drawing, or reading storybooks.
  • Spend time with your children, talk to them, and ask about their school and friends. When they receive your full attention, they will be less inclined to turn to the phone. Children learn by observing; if you use your phone constantly in front of them, they will do the same. Minimize mobile phone usage in their presence.
  • Physical activity:
  • Make sure to send children outside to play or run around for at least one hour every day. This strengthens their muscles and ensures a good night's sleep. Regular Sleep:
  • Deep sleep of 8 to 10 hours is crucial for a child's development. Establish a fixed schedule for their sleeping and waking times.
  • Teach through play: Avoid putting academic pressure on young children. Teach them using poems, stories, toys, and puzzles.
  • Daily reading habit: Tell your children inspiring or moral stories at bedtime. This fosters their imagination and language skills.
  • Offer appreciation: Always praise your child when they learn something new or do something well; this boosts their self-confidence.
  • Handle with love and patience: Shouting at children or raising a hand against them can make them stubborn or fearful. If they make a mistake, explain what is right and wrong gently and in private.
  • Understand their emotions: Listen to your children attentively. They should feel that their parents are there for them through every problem.
  • Need for Special Care
  • When children reach the age of 10 to 18, it becomes the parents' duty—rather than simply issuing orders—to act as friends and help them distinguish between right and wrong. Following these guidelines can help keep your child from straying onto the wrong path. During this phase, it is important to keep an eye on them like a guide rather than acting like a spy.
  • Listen as a friend: Spend at least 15 minutes a day listening to your child without offering advice or scolding them. They should feel comfortable sharing their thoughts with you.
  • Don't get angry immediately: If your child speaks irritably or uses an inappropriate tone, stay calm instead of shouting right away. Children understand things better when discussed later with a cool head.
  • Correct them in private: Never scold children for their mistakes in front of others or their friends. This damages their self-confidence; always address issues in private.
  • Teach internet safety: Openly discuss online privacy, cyberbullying, and the dangers of talking to strangers.
  • Parental controls: Use screen time limits and apps like Google Family Link on the gadgets used by children aged 10 to 18 to prevent them from viewing inappropriate content.
  • Set rules together:Involve your child when establishing household rules (such as study time, bedtime, or curfew). They are more likely to follow rules they helped create.
  • Respect personal space: Give them freedom regarding small choices like room decor, clothing, or hairstyles. Constantly interfering or restricting them can make children rebellious.
  • Assign responsibilities: Give them age-appropriate household chores (such as cleaning their room, preparing simple meals, or running errands). Taking responsibility for mistakes: Teach children to take ownership of their failures or mistakes themselves, rather than blaming others.
  • In conclusion:
  • If a child is cared for and raised in this manner, they will undoubtedly become a source of support in our old age and grow into a good citizen of the country.
